New Kit - Panasonic HPX250

Wild Dog has updated its ENG shooting kit and is now very excited to be able to offer the new Panasonic HPX250 camcorder as part of its ENG shooting package. From our production base in Exeter, Devon, UK, we are able to offer crewing for all projects in the South West and other UK locations. Furthermore, with airlines becoming increasing stringent on baggage allowances and overweight fees, this new compact ENG shooting kit allows us to be ultra mobile for international projects - the main camera & audio kit fits neatly into one carry-on bag.
HPX250
The Panasonic HPX 250 offers full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution recording at an impressive 100mb/s and 4:2:2 colour using the AVC Intra codec and recoding to Panasonic’s P2 cards. The camera is fully approved by the BBC for HD acquisition for broadcast transmission and is the perfect tool for documentary production for independent filmmakers.

For more information on the BBC approved camera list, click here.

Our ENG shooting kit also includes the latest GoPro HD Hero minicam, a short Hague camera slider, reporter lights and a full audio rig, including Senheiser Radio mics. For more information on rates please see out current rate card.

Film on BBC1…

Our new film for BBC Inside Out is scheduled for transmission on Monday 28th November on BBC1 at 1930hrs.

For all those that miss the transmission time (or for those of you that live outside the South West), you will be able to watch the film on the BBC iPlayer.

The film follows 71 year old mountaineer and double amputee Norman Croucher from Devon. Not content with having scaled some of the world’s biggest peaks, including Cho Oyo in Tibet at over 8000m on his two tin legs, Croucher has decided to learn to paraglide.

Shot on location in the Lake District in Cumbria and in Dorset and Devon, the film follows Norman on his journey. But at 71 is this a challenge too far for the intrepid adventurer?

For more information on Norman Croucher, please visit his website here.
